Summary of Guidance
We want all of you to be able to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday as safely as possible.
Stay Healthy
- Avoid social gatherings, parties, or other situations that involve close contact with people you do not currently live with.
- When in campus dining, restaurants or other public venues, please maintain physical distance from other patrons.
- Continue to wear masks that cover the nose and mouth, whenever possible.
- Continue to wash your hands frequently with soap and water, and keep high-contact surfaces clean.
Travel Guidance
- Students will have the option to return home for the Thanksgiving Holiday (Nov. 25–27), or stay on campus through the end of the semester.
- We will ask students who elect to travel outside of Spokane County for the Thanksgiving Holiday NOT to return to campus for the remainder of the semester.
- All community members should follow the new interstate travel advisory and pay attention to CDC’s current travel guidance.
- Increase the chances for a COVID-19-free departure by reducing close contacts with people outside your living environment for the next two weeks. If you must be in contact with others, keep the exposure time brief.
Testing
Walk-In Student Testing Extended to Monday, Nov. 23
Walk-in COVID-19 testing will be provided on Monday, Nov. 23 from 8 a.m.–12 p.m. at the 729 E. Boone house on campus. If there is need to stay open longer, additional tests will be provided in limited quantities from 12–1 p.m.

- Consider getting tested for COVID-19 at least three days before your intended departure date. Gonzaga will continue to offer walk-in testing through November 20th, and testing for those who have signs or symptoms, or have been exposed to COVID-19, through November 24th

Student Quarantine & Isolation
- We will continue to support students in isolation and quarantine through the Thanksgiving break and beyond – even if you were originally planning to head home at Thanksgiving.
Operations After Thanksgiving
- For those students who plan to remain on campus for Thanksgiving and the remainder of the fall semester, campus services, departments and facilities will be operational and accessible (with modified hours for certain services over the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend).
- All instruction after the Thanksgiving Holiday will be distance delivery.
