Dr. Bernadette Marie Calafell received her Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina. Prior to coming to Gonzaga University, she was a faculty member at Syracuse University and University of Denver. Her research and teaching interests are in women of color feminisms, queer of color theories, performance studies, critical rhetoric, and monstrosity/horror.
